When should I replace my tyres?
The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6 mm, but grip on wet roads drops noticeably well before that. Also look for cracks, bulges or uneven wear. If in doubt, drop by and we will check them together.
Why do wheels need balancing?
An unbalanced wheel causes vibration through the steering wheel, especially at higher speeds, and wears out tyres and suspension faster. That’s why we balance every wheel we fit.
Can a punctured tyre be repaired?
Often, yes — when the hole is small and in the tread area. Punctures in the sidewall or large damage cannot be repaired safely; in that case we will recommend a replacement.
How often should I check tyre pressure?
Once a month and before every long trip, with the tyres cold. You will find the correct pressure for your car on the sticker inside the driver’s door or the fuel cap.
